WinUAE 1.4.5

After 18 beta-versions, the "final" version 1.4.5 of WinUAE has been released. Download can be found in the downloads section.

New features

- Sana2 compatible net device (uaenet.device) emulation
- Full doublescan mode emulation (DBLPAL, DBLNTSC, MultiScan etc..), sprite doublescan support
- Full SuperHires emulation, bitplanes and sprites, including ECS Denise "scrambled palette" superhires mode. Also does not downscale hires sprites to lores anymore when bitplane resolution is lores
- SuperHires resolution added to display panel, replaces old GUI lores setting with lores, hires and superhires select box
- .dsq (DiskSqueeze) and .wrp (Warp) disk decompression support
- "Automount" and "Do not boot" harddrive options added
- Axis movements can be mapped to buttons in input panel (left/right and up/down)
- Picasso96 resolutions 320x200, 320x240, 640x400 and 640x480 added to resolution list, even if no native Windows support
- optional ini-file registry replacement. (winuae.ini or -ini )
- Autocomplete added to most path text boxes
- Added information text to hardfile panel (shows type, size,.. of HDF)
- Nordic Power 3.0 freezer cartridge support

Bugs fixed

- lzx decompression stability and compatibility improved
- Debugger C-command word and long word support fixed
- Heavy CD32 Akiko C2P usage caused huge performance loss
- AGA statefile restore crash fix
- Analog joystick mouse emulation fix
- A500 cycle-exact mode freeze in some cases
- Picasso96 display preferences resolution list corruption
- A590/A2091 SCSI emulation buffer overflow crash fix
- Some types of HDF didn\'t mount properly
- Some automount issues fixed
- CDTV and CDTV SCSI emulation compatibility improved
- Some ECS Denise-only features fixed
- Miscellaneous fixes here and there
- Blank screen in windowed mode fixed (RGB overlay incompatibility)

We are happy to report that Classicamiga was featured in the November 2007 issue if the Portuguese Retro Gaming magazine, Hype! Within a two page article on the Commodore Amiga, classicamiga.com is featured in its own boxout, as shown here.

For those of you who can't understand Portuguese the English translation, thanks to Tiago, reads:

Amibay.co.uk is the unofficial successor of the recently closed Amiga site Amibench.org. In complement to the old site, every retro hard- or software can be sold or purchased, a restriction to Amiga only ware doesn't exist anymore.

What is AmiBay ?

AmiBay is a NON-PROFIT site intended to serve the retro computing community

AmiBay provides a no-cost way to buy or sell your retro hardware and software without the burden of auction fees. If you are looking to sell your item(s) at inflated market prices then this site is not for you and you should try the established auction sites.

AmigaSYS 3 USB

The preconfigured OS environment AmigaSYS can now also be operated from a USB key. On their homepage you can download an ISO file together with a small manual, and there's also a video available that shows the different installation steps.

Pros

- Takes less place to take with you
- USB keys are becoming very affordable
- CD's damage more easily

Cons

- Not all computer can boot from a USB key
- Not everyone has a USB key big enough

New CD32 games available at Amition

New ISO images are available at Amition.de. They can be used on a CD32. Following games have been added:

- Argus (Nice shooter with a lot of extras)
- Witness: War in the new era solar system (Save the solar sytsem in this fast shooter)
- Charly the Merc (Jump'n Run Shooter, shoot everything that crosses your way)

There are also other games available at their site for download. Just download the ISO, unpack it and burn to CD to run in your CD32 console.
