The sequel to the very popular Amiga game The Settlers was only ever officially released on the PC and Mac. This was due to the unstable Amiga market when the sequel was released (1996). However later, an Amiga developer called Titan Computers approached Blue Byte and secured permission to port The Settlers 2 over to the Amiga. They worked as far as getting the game engine working, but when they requested the graphical elements from Blue Byte to complete the project Blue Byte changed their minds and decided it wasn't a viable project.

Therefore the Amiga port of The Settlers 2 was cancelled during conversion.

Preliminary system requirements were:

  • Minimum 68040 CPU or PPC CPU
  • 8MB Rast Ram

A real tragedy.
It's a real shame this was never released for the Amiga. The original is, in my opinion, one of best games released on the Amiga. I can't see Blue Byte being out of poket even if it was a flop, so why not just supply Titan with the graphics? A true Amiga game that never was.

Somewhat addictive...
First time I had ever laid my hands on this game was on a demo back in the late 90's. The game became addictive so I ended up buying a copy myself.
