Finally the classic PC strategy game Command and Conquer: Red Alert is available to play on 68K Amigas.
This is an open source port of the game called OpenRedAlert. It has been released for free on Aminet and can be downloaded below. In addition to the OpenRedAlert Amiga files you will also need a copy of the original PC CD-Rom version of the game. The good news is that EA have now officially made the original game available for free to download as ISOs, so you can obtain everything needed to play Red Alert on the Amiga for free! System Requirements:
- 68040+ processor
- CGX or Picasso based graphics card (This does not support AGA)
- sdl.library version 1.2.6
- AHI
Quite high end classic Amiga specs needed, but if you have an Amiga capable of running this game then why not give it a try.
Known current problems:
- No Video (disabled in current version due to a conflict. Being worked on)
- Mission animations
- May freeze during game or at exit
