One of the best Arcade Racers on the Amiga

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
The original Nigel Mansel Licenced F1 game, "Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix", released in 1988 was a big let down. This game released 4 years later also carrying his name was a complete contrast. Instead of concentrating on the technical side of racing as the first Nigel Mansel game tried to do, Nigel Mansell's World Championship took a more arcade approach to the genre.

If you have ever played Vroom then you will know what to expect from this game. It is pure out and out arcade racing fun that doesn't require you to learn any technical F1 rules and regulations, or how to correctly handle your car through a tight bend. It's all about fun and the thrill of racing, with enjoyment had from battling with the other cars on the track and trying to overtake.

It contains all of the tracks featured on the F1 calender at the time the game was made. They have tried to include some of the landmarks within the trackside furniture to give each track a unique feel and make it feel more like each real track. This definitely adds to the feel and enjoyment of the game.

The graphics are very polished and the game moves at a very nice framerate, helping you to get a sense of speed as you race.

Out of all of the racing games on the Amiga this has to be one of the best for pure arcade racing fun.
