Summary

AmiBay provides a no-cost way to buy or sell your retro hardware and software without the burden of auction fees.  It's built by members of the Amiga community, for the retro community.

AmiBay isn't however an auction site, but instead a classifieds style bulletin board/forum allowing members to post fixed priced for sale adverts, and a first come, first to win, so you always know exactly what you are paying.

AmiBay - By and for the community

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
Have you ever participated in an eBay auction for an Amiga item? Have you desperately been trying to get hold of a new Blizzard accelerator card or a scan doubler? If you have, then you're probably familiar with price inflation. There has been plenty of examples over the years of people paying unbelievable amounts of money for certain items. Fortunately, there is an alternative, namely AmiBay.

AmiBay, as stated in their FAQ, is a non-profit site. It intends to serve the retro computing community and provides a no-cost way to buy or sell your retro hardware and software. Because of this, you don't have to pay auction fees, which is a good thing. They also state the following, which I totally agree with:

"If you are looking to sell your item(s) at inflated market prices then this site is not for you and you should try the established auction sites."

That is one of the reasons AmiBay is a great alternative to eBay. AmiBay was made BY and FOR people of the Amiga community. So if you are looking for a fair trade, AmiBay is the place to look.
