64MB RAM (at least 48MB free).

32MB RAM (24MB free) and VMM installed (VMM only works with Freespace using the 68k Version,and the Audio Streaming has to be disabled if using VMM).

PowerPC users need to have WarpUP v4+ (powerpc.library ver16.1 recommended) installed. Users using 3D hardware need Warp3D v4.x installed. WarpUP and Warp3D are included on the CD.
