Feel like a nice game of air hockey? Well then you loaded the wrong game. As soon as you enter the main hall, it's obvious this isn't a place for kids. The lighting is dim, the melody of a worn out jutebox fills the air, mingling with the lingering cigarette smoke. You could easily mistake this bar for a seedy pool hall. Welcome to the Shufflepuck Cafe.

Graphics: Very bland, not much to get excited about here. The orange table, the black background. That's about it. The only redeeming quality here is that there is great detail contained within the faces of your opponents. A nice feature is their reactions to gaining or loosing a point, its slightly entertaining. Although, the black background does add to the atmosphere and allows you to concentrate on the task at hand.

Sound: The sound is average, there aren't many sounds contained within the game. The smashing of your barrier is definately a hideous sound.

Gameplay: This is where the game shines. There are ten characters to play, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Learning these is the key to completing the game. There are two modes in which you can play, the tournament mode and the single play mode. In the tournament mode, you play each character, starting from the lowest ranked character and must defeat them in order to progress to the next round. If you lose, you return to the first opponent. The other mode is being able to select a single character to challenge. Here, you have control over a variety of options, which gives the game depth.

Lifespan: This game doesn't age, the graphics are done in a way as to focus your attention to the game. Defeating all the opponents is a tough ask, and as of yet, I have been unable to do so. The single play mode allows for numerous games to be completed, with different options set each time.

Overall: Although the graphics aren't top of the line, they are perfect for this style of game. The atmosphere that is achieved with this game is perfect, and really draws you into this game. It requires great concentration to complete, so get you skills ready and have a go.
