Swaptro 2006 by Apathy

The first thing that strikes me with this production is the title. The demo is called Swaptro 2006, and clearly indicates that it aims at attracting the attention of swappers/mailtraders. Sadly, there aren't many doing this kind of thing anymore. Most Sceners that used to swap, have now moved over to the Internet. Still, it's quite cool that someone makes a swaptro in 2006. Brings back some of the good old joy from the more early days of the Scene. I sincerely hope that the author managed to get a few contacts with this production.
Anyway, let's get down to the basic facts concerning Swaptro 2006. The programming and graphics was done by Strife, the main organizer of Apathy. As you can see from one of the screenshots above, he has borrowed the famous chef from Monkey Island. That character fits the demo well, because Strife claims he is back from the dead. As for the music, the tracking was done by Maze. A musician well known for his chip-pack called Digital Chips. The tune is nice to listen to.
This is a swaptro, so don't expect a whole bunch of routines, pictures and such. It is more like an advertising for the author to gain some more contacts to trade with. It does the job well in my opinion. It is not a stunning production compared to recent demos though, as it seriously lacks effects.
All in all, an ok production from Apathy. As an ordinary demo, it is not much, but as a swaptro, it sure does the job. It will perhaps bring on some smiles among those viewers that used to be swappers themselves.
