The Complete Multimedia Presentation System.

Showmaker is a program for creating video and multimedia productions on your Amiga that allow you to combine still pictures, animations, music, sound effects, text and video.  As well as combining these elements with external video and audio devices such as VCR, video disc and MIDI instruments.

Showmaker works using a timeline based display, with you placing events on the timeline to build up a multimiedia presentation that could be anything from a slideshow of images, to a full music video.  The timeline contains tracks for different types of events, for graphics, sound effects, music etc allowing you to syncronise and start and duration time of every element being used.  Think of it working like an early version of the Non-Linear Video editing systems we commonly use today, such as Adobe Premiere Elements.

Showmaker  also has built in support for the SuperGen 2000S Amiga Genlock, allowing the mixing of video and Amiga graphics during the playback of a presentation.  This allows for the production of smooth transitions between graphics and video.

Showmaker can also control external video playback devices such as VCRs, if they have a serial RS-232 interface.

Showmaker also has built in support for the NewTek Video Toaster hardware.  This allows the control of VIdeo Toaster hardware processing to perform advanced functions that were at the time very expensive to reproduce in any other way.  These include video switching, digital video effects generation, digital frame store, and video titling.  You can also combine this with Arexx to directly control the Video Toaster hardware during presentations.
