Software Notes and Information

This was the very first Bitmap graphics package ever released for the Commodore Amiga.

Initially this program was developed by Daniel Silva as an in-house art development tool called Prism, to aid them in creating graphics to showcase the capacities of the Amiga prior to it's launch.  This was quickly developed by Daniel Silva into a fully featured product to coinsice with the Amiga's launch in 1985, and it became a showcase product that would continue to be throughout the life of the Amiga.

As Deluxe Paint was developed, EA developed and introduced the IBLM and ANIM file formats which quickly became the standard image and animation formats on the Amiga.  Sadly these file formats never took off on any other computer system, although they did appear on the ported PC versions of Deluxe Paint later, and directly supported by some art packages such as Adobe Photoshop.
