The Moonstone Tavern website has now found a new home on the classicamiga.com network.

A huge thanks to Classicamiga for kindly hosting The Moonstone Tavern, my little slice of the Web dedicated to the gory 1991 Amiga cult classic Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight.

The site has been going since 2002 (time flies!), and has blossomed from a clutch of screen grabs into the definitive repository for everything Moonstone. Surf around and you’ll find an extensive bestiary, battle tactics, ROMs, music, movies and tons of gory screenshots that will no doubt bring those nostalgic memories flooding back...

So why not treat yourself to a flagon of frothing ale (on the house, naturally!), plonk your feet up and reminisce with me as I take you for a sojourn through Mindscape's magnificent and charnel-splattered world of knights, monsters and valiant derring-do. I hope you have as much more exploring the site as I had making it!

All the best,

Rob

Membership cleanup

Tuesday, 07 April 2009
A cleanup of the registered members of classicamiga will be performed at the end of April.  This will mean that inactive or incomplete accounts will be removed from our systems.

All accounts that have been inactive for over 6 months will be reviewed at the end of this month and will be deleted if they fit the following conditions.
  1. An account was created on classicamiga, but was never activated using the automatic confirmation and account activation email that is sent out when registration is completed.
  2. The email address used at the time of registration no longer resolves.  We sometimes send out a global email newsletter to all members to keep everyone up to date on new events and updates on classicamiga.  When these are sent out the server collects a list of all members and related email addresses that fail to receive this email.   The reasons given for the failure of delivery will be reviewed, and if the registration email address for an account is now shown as no longer existing, then that member's account might be delete (depending on that members status and previous activity on classicamiga).
If you originally registered on classicamiga, but never activated your new account because you never received the confirmation/activation email, then please try to retreive your account so that the site can automatically send you another email to activate your account.

However please contect me if you still don't receive the email, or if you had other technical problems completing your registration.

This is also an opportunity to ask that all members please check your membership details and make sure that your emil address and other details held on classicamiga are accurate and up to date.

I'm pleased to anounce that the classicamiga forums have now been successfully moved to their new home on a shiny new dedicated server.

As with most server moves, I had a few setup and configuration issues with the new server, and some bugs to iron out on the forum once it had been migrated. But everything should now be fixed and working properly.

And you can access the forum from the same http://forum.classicamiga.com address as always.

We hope to see you on there.

Regards,

Harrison.

The Classicamiga Forum is moving

Our forums are currently moving to a new dedicated server. This will give us the resources the forum needs to run smoothly, and the dedicated server will allow us to expand further into the future and offer everyone a nicer experience.

To bring you all up to speed, the classicamiga forums have been offline since Monday 16th Feb. This was due to the forum becoming too resource hungry for the hosting account they were currently being hosted on, meaning I have had to look for a better solution to host them. And after some research I decided the best solution was to move the forum to a new dedicated server so that the resources and hosting of the forum could be fully managed by myself.

I am hoping that the new server will be ready within the next couple of days.

In the mean time if you have any questions please post them using the comments below.

Thank you.

Harrison.
