Rick Dangerous is a really fun game, you are that Indiana Jones type adventurer and have to run from stone boulders and get past strange aborigines to get through the level alive. You die instantly if you touch them or any of the many traps that you find in the levels. I guess the thing i remember most from that game was the funny sounds the characters make when they die. The problem with the game is that it is very hard. Mostly you have to know the levels by heart or you will die after jumping down from any platform because you can't see what's waiting for you down there. But still it manages to get you to try again and again.

Pinball Dreams, the legendary Pinball game released by 21st Century Entertainment was the first of a Piball Trilogy and included 4 tables for multiplayer fun. All tables were gorgeous to look at and the ball physics were breathtaking for that time. Since pinball tables have always been too long the only solution to fit them on screen without the table arrows and letters getting too small was to show only the part of the table where the ball was rolling. Pinball Dreams's vertical scrolling actually was smooth enough not to loose track of the ball and above the table was a dither display which showed beautiful animations to anything happening on the table.
The game's music was well fitting for the game and contribted to Pinball Dreams becoming a game to play for hours and hours.

The same year after Pinball Dreams became a success 21st Century released the second set of 4 Pinball tables under the name Pinball Fantasies. More loops, longer tables and more animations and table funtions made this game a lot bigger than it's predecessor. The final blow was the soundtrack. There was no sound improvement as such, but the tunes were of the sort you would still whistle when going to bed at night. Pinball Fantasies also came out as AGA version with improved colors. This game was definitely a gem to have.

Finally 3 years after Pinball Fantasies 21st Century released their final Pinball Game. While Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies were closely related considring graphics and sound, Pinball illusions was quite different. First of all the graphics were much more lifelike, the tables had grown in length again, and there was a new feature which Pinball Dremas and Fantasies were unable to do: Multiball!!! In the case you were able to lock enough balls you were automatically switched to a whole table view in which you could see all the balls in play.
The only downside this game had, it had only 3 tables... but what the hell, the game was great, felt different, but still smooth and it still felt like a part of the trilogy. Maybe the lifespan wasn't as long as for it's predecessors, but once again 21st Century had shown us that they can still do Pinballs. << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 4 of 4
