Oh my goodness!!!, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 You begin at a title screen which is uninteresting and contains the game's menu, which with two clicks you can start to play. Then you have to buy your truck and can pimp it, but already here, the menu is so small and ugly that you would probably rather want to skip it, than customize your truck. After a small loading time the game finally begins, but what you'll see is just awkward. The graphics are terrible; just take a look at the screenshots for yourselves. The handling of the truck is almost non-existent and the gameplay is just lame. You have to drive to a mark and back, and you have to do this for so long until your opponent has no more lives. You can push him off the road to do so, or race faster than him from mark to mark. But racing here is a pain, and certainly NO fun. I never managed to win against the CPU, but I also must admit that I only tried twice. I just wanted that disk out of my miggy. Perhaps if playing against a human opponent it's a bit more fun, but I doubt that. The sound of the trucks is not so bad compared to the rest of the game, but there isn't any music. Btw, the game is from 1995 and comes on 3 disks. Whatever there is on the other 2 disks, I surely don't wanna know!. The game itself can not be bigger than a few kB, so I really ponder what's on the other disks. Perhaps if you beat your opponent you are presented with a great game, but I have my doubts about that. You must wonder why I'm writing a review? Well, this is more a warning than a review! Don't buy, copy, rent or whatever this game, avoid it at all costs. It's not worth the money or 3 spare disks. There are so many games that are a lot better, I would even say that any other game is actually better! You've been warned!
Old school rulez!, Wednesday, 27 June 2007 I admit, the music is somewhat awful, and the graphics aren't the best seen around, but as mentioned before, this is very basic. Hopefully Zyriax can keep his motivation up and continue with his coding work on the Classicamiga intro/demo. Otherwise I'll have to keep him motivated ;-) Last updated: Thursday, 28 June 2007
Great megademo from the early days of the Amiga., Friday, 24 November 2006 There are more parts in the demo, thus megademo, and I kinda liked them all, if you don't take the credits as a part of the demo. What I found very impressive at the time, was indeed the vectors part, as it is very entertaining and well done. The circle twist is also a nice routine, which I saw several times in other demos AFTER this one. The music by Romeo Knight is simply awesome, my favorite track here would also be the one which is played during the vectors part, a track called Wasteland. This part of the demo is also downloadable as single demo. And if you're an Iron Maiden fan, or just like their coverart, the loading screen should also be something special ;-) All in all a great demo, surely not the best, but in my opinion one of them. A must see, but as I think this one is very popular, everbody out there should know it. Last updated: Friday, 24 November 2006
Rick Dangerous, Tuesday, 17 October 2006 Pick it up, give it a try, the game sure has its strengths, forget about its sometimes hard level design, and as above-mentioned, the screams of the characters are just hilarious. Have fun :-) << Start < Prev 1 Next > End >> Results 1 - 4 of 4 |
