This is the first issue of Aggression, a Norwegian diskmagazine that was put together by a group called Cadaver. This crew was known for delivering quality productions, and this magazine is no exception.

It contains a wide range of interesting articles on many different topics, which is basically the most important thing in a diskmag. In Aggression, you'll get the chance to get an inside look into the Scene anno 1994. Everything from swapping to the 1994 Olympics is covered.

Beside articles, you get to enjoy quality Amiga music, along with a functional interface. This adds to the overall experience.

All in all, Aggression is a magazine well worth reading. I enjoyed it and I think you will too if you give it a chance.

Triumph's a Norwegian demo group that has been active for many years. Among their well known productions are Dreamscape and Eclipse from The Gathering 1996 and 1997.

This intro, which is entitled 64K Intro, was released at the Kindergarden party in Norway in 1998. It ended up as number three in the competition, behind Spaceballs with N20 and Contraz with Brainbox. If you compare these productions, you'll probably notice why Triumph didn't "triumph" with their contribution.

Two of the main reasons, in my opinion, is that it's too short and that it lacks proper design. If they had worked a bit more on these issues, they might have gained a higher position. After all, there's some well made effects included. Here I would like to point out the simply huge phong-shaded objects that almost fills the screen. One is shaped like a donut and the other one I can't find a name for in English, so you'll have to see for yourself.

Another positive thing is the music, which is simply brilliant. It's worth watching the intro just to hear. It's a remake of an old classic, but I won't tell you which song it is in this review.

If we sum this up, we've seen that 64K Intro has a couple of positive sides. Unfortunately, I'll have to say that the lack of design and the length are two big minuses. There's simply not enough content and the presentation of the effects could be much better. Still, thumbs up for good coding and music.

This demo was the winner of the competition at the Eastern Conference party in Poland in 1995. Responsible for the demo was Sputnik (code), Freeman (graphics), Grid (graphics) and Bethoven (music).

Lech by Freezers is a demo that contains a wide variation of nice effects. City landscapes, Doom-effects, and fast and furious 3D objects are three of the keywords here. But it isn't the effects that make this demo so fun to watch. It's the design.

Everything you see on screen is synchronized to the music. As the music, at least in my ears, is divided into different parts, it all goes well with what's happening visually. The atmosphere is, because of this, constantly changing.

In Lech, there's never a boring moment. You'll be taken from effect to effect and from picture to picture. It's a good ride and well worth trying out. I watched Lech for the first time over 10 years ago, and I still like to run it from time to time today.

Sceners today do most of their demo trading via the Internet, but things haven't always been this way. From the beginning of the Scene and for many, many years, swapping was the way to get hold of both new and old stuff. For those that aren't familiar with swapping, I can explain it using another term, namely mail trading. It's all about sending stuff via ordinary mail. If you want more information concerning this, there's an article on this site dealing with the topic.

A special thing with this swaptro, is that it was released in the year 2000. I know that there were quite a few active swappers still going strong on the Amiga that year. Mostly, such prods as this was released in the 80's and 90's, so it's fun to see such stuff with modern design and effects. Some might also remember the swaptro from Apathy that came out on Breakpoint 2006, only one year ago, so maybe swapping isn't completely dead after all? ;)

This is a small intro, but it does the job a swaptro is supposed to do very well. The music is excellent and I just kept on watching the intro because of that. The graphics and design looks cool as well, and the same goes for the effects that are included. There is also some text with the authors address, some greetings and so on. All of this goes together in a fine well, and it's therefore nicely executed by the author.

All in all, a cute small production from Loaderror of Ephidrena. It doesn't have many effects or anything like that, but that is not the point of a swaptro anyway.

I've also read somewhere that Loaderror managed to get some new contacts from this intro, which shows that it worked as it was intended.

Thumbs up!

The thing about this demo that isn't totally bad is the music, but seeing the credits, it is clear that it wasn't tracked by a member of Vomit. As for the rest of the production, I just have to say that I didn't like it all. It has a few effects that are ok, but the choice of colours and design makes them look horrible. Another annoying factor is the constant flashing of colours and screens. After a short time, you'll be tired of watching, as your eyes can't keep up. Personally I didn't enjoy watching Programerade Buggar. The title is Swedish and means literally programmed bugs. Therefore one should probably not be too surprised that the demo looked bad.
